In today’s digital age, endless scrolling feels natural but it comes with unseen emotional costs. Constantly consuming content can affect attention span, mood, and mental health without us even noticing. Understanding the hidden weight of the scroll helps us recognize how our daily screen habits impact emotional well-being and productivity.

 

1. Scrolling Can Increase Anxiety and Stress

Research shows that prolonged scrolling often leads to information overload, comparison, and worry. Social media feeds are designed to keep users engaged which can trigger stress and anxiety over time. Recognizing this hidden weight of the scroll is the first step toward mindful usage.
