Hi, I’m Caryl (pronounced Carol). I have practiced as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the past 12 years. It was my dream since I was ten years old. My plan was to assist others in taking charge of their lives and achieving their goals.
Things, however, do not always go as you plan. I got married, and at 19, I had the first of my four children. I did not complete my bachelor’s of social work degree until I was in my forties at the University of Nevada Las Vegas(UNLV). Ten years later, I went back to UNLV and graduated with a Master’s of Social Work degree. Two years later, I passed my exam and received my clinical license while working for the Veteran’s Administration.
During my career as a clinical Social Worker I have worked with individuals of all ages, sexual identities, cultures, and ethnic groups. I counseled patients with situational anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and PTSD , I have assisted them in managing and reducing symptoms. improving their quality of life, and achieving their goals.
I have certifications and training in therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Processing therapy, social skills, problem solving therapy, ACT and DBT. I prefer, however, being eclectic in developing a treatment plan collaboratively with my client.
I am passionate about assisting my clients overcome their barriers to achieve their life’s dream. I look forward to assisting you in your mission.
