Hello, I’m Erin Sebree (pronounced See-bree). I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC) in Arizona.
My passion in life is to help people unlock their potentials and experience the resiliency within themselves. I also help couples discover this bond together as a marriage and family therapist. Life brought me to change academic focus from my past career and into graduate school. I came to realize that supporting my clients in making positive change is my life’s mission. It is never too late to find and fulfill what makes you feel alive!
I obtained a Master’s degree in Human Services; Specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in 2011. During my time of study I had the honor of interning with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Therapeutic Interagency Program (TIP); an integration of child protection, mental health, and Head Start resources. I worked with children and families with a history of childhood neglect, child abuse, family violence, and other psychosocial trauma. I explored modalities of trauma informed care and parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) to promote safe and secure parent-child bonding, as well as safe emotional regulation and healing in relationships. I also served as an intern at Transitions Inc. with the Droege House in Dayton, Kentucky; a residential substance abuse treatment center for men.
Throughout my journey as a therapist I have worked with individuals, couples, groups, and families in a variety of settings including partial hospitalization, inpatient hospitalization, residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment. I have also assisted with program development in multiple agency settings in integrating the family in different areas of care.
I have experience working with many issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, attachment based issues, traumatic experiences and post-traumatic stress, meaning of life issues, substance use disorders, emotional dysfunction, stress management, and self-esteem and self-worth issues.
I enjoy collaborating with my clients. I look forward to having meaningful discussions regarding the positive and negative aspects of change, and witnessing my clients move across the landscape to a brighter, more positive area in their lives. In order for this healing to happen, I help create a safe space for clients (whether in individual or couples therapy) to trust I am on their side in their process of healing.
