About Rick

Home About Rick

Hello and welcome to Road to Therapy. My name is Richard Isles, LPC, and I usually go by Rick. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arizona. My undergraduate degree was completed at American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Business Management.

For decades, I’ve experienced the negative impacts of addiction and mental health with people in my personal life. I quickly learned that my story is relatable to many others who are motivated to find sobriety, but are struggling with the day-to-day changes in making this life commitment. Often times, the mundane tasks can be daunting and discouraging from accomplishing the most simple things. During the course of learning about recovery, I learned that my true calling and passion was in the field of counseling.

I have experience working in multiple levels of care in the field of substance and alcohol addictions. Although each level of care is unique, I find that I am motivated to help clients get steps closer to reclaiming their best selves.

My therapeutic approach centers on the eclectic with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). I find that people and families in recovery need effective tools to recover, and my goal is to help my clients overcome the roadblocks with effective strategies that are tailored to them.

I believe trust is the first step to any recovery. I’ve seen firsthand the work that goes in overcoming obstacles, and I would like to help you to the other side of your roadblocks. When clients return, and tell me that I was part of their early healing– that’s what inspires me to help others battling addiction.
